As we continue our journey to becoming the best everyday bank in the Nordics, we are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to support and build the future of Lunar’s payment products so that we can offer even better and more modern payment options for our customers.
As our new Senior Backend Engineer, you will be part of our Squad Viper, reporting to Girish Premchandran. The team currently comprises 3 amazing engineers working in/across Aarhus within the broader Tech function, led by Kåre Kjelstrøm.
What will you do?
- Develop and integrate payment products for various regions, e.g. Swish for the Swedish market, and VIPPS for the Norwegian
- Collaborate closely with the rest of the Squad Viper team and other squads to ensure smooth operation and effective product delivery
- Write scalable code that adheres to best practices in software development
- Understand and contribute to our domain-driven design principles (not required experience to be a great match)
- Take initiative and ownership in all aspects of the development lifecycle, from concept to deployment

- Previous senior experience as a backend engineer
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or similar.
- Ability to understand complex software systems and break them down into smaller, usable components.
- Experience working with microservices and knowledge of Domain-Driven Design
- Comfortable taking initiative, ownership, and responsibility.
Tech Stack: Go, SQL, gRPC, Kafka and RabbitMQ are nice-to-haves but not a requirement to be a great match
